Many of you know eSIM2Fly.com as the first website that started selling eSIMs back in 2019. AIS Thailand and DTAC were among the first 10 large carriers worldwide selling eSIMs. eSIM2Fly.com was launched the moment the physical SIM card became available as a digital eSIM - no longer needing physical shipping.
The AIS eSIM2Fly was one of the best global roaming eSIMs for many years, providing a Thai phone number, long-term usage, and great rates in more than 120 countries. Especially popular with seafarers, the AIS SIM2Fly could be used as a main data eSIM for years of travel anywhere in the world.
KKpark scam center in Myanmar.
In 2024, however, the massive scam industries in Cambodia and Myanmar really started putting the pressure on Thailand to crack down on SIM cards and banking used by scammers to make fake user profiles. New banking regulations have been implemented, limiting the size of Thai Baht bank transactions without full KYC. Furthermore, mandatory phone number registration has been implemented for all Thai nationals, and in 2025, mandatory registration was extended to all international users.
eSIM2Fly.com sold AIS and DTAC SIMs sourced from a local Thai partner - a wholesaler and distributor of physical and digital SIM cards purchased directly via their 10-year relationship with AIS and DTAC.
On July 19, 2024, the CrowdStrike bug affected computers worldwide and disrupted automated systems used by our Thai partner to programmatically check the status of AIS Sim2Fly products, flooding their system with requests. This incident prompted AIS to sue our partner of "overuse of their system" and then later, AIS seized our partner's computer equipment.
Needless to say, this heavy-handed approach to dealing with a long-term business partner disrupted the ability to source and support the sale of the AIS product.
Long-time users of the AIS SIM2fly eSIM and pSIM are now finding that their SIM cards, registered to our partner company, can no longer be recharged. They are also being told that the only resolution is a physical visit to an AIS shop to convert the registration to their name.
The bitter end of AIS SIM2Fly
This is a sad and deeply disappointing turn of events for one of the best, highest rated eSIM products on the market. Thanks to the unbridled scamming, pressure from regulators, KYC requirements - the eSIMs that we started selling here can no longer be sold. Added to that, we have no way to help existing customers with their product.
Now what?
The good news is, there are other options. Lots of them. eSIM2Fly.com lives on and with a brand new eSIM catalog backed by a major roaming partner. Check out two of our great Global eSIM options - both reloadable 120 Countries 1GB for 1 year or 5GB for 30 days just $24. Looking for something else - take a peek at our new eSIM catalog.
So, while the AIS SIM2fly may be dead, travel with eSIM2Fly.com is alive and well, at prices better than ever! Get your roam on!
