Horrible customer service with DTAC. Impossible to top up my sim for voice calls. Misleading product description. Certainly but a happy tourist.

Lester didn’t realize that all DTAC eSIMs come with a phone number that allows a user to add top up credit via various outlets. Additionally Lester’s American payment cards were rejected from various other top up outlets, and Lester then felt his payment method failures somehow reflects on the service we provide, which is the sale of the actual eSIM itself which happened without incident.

Q & A

Question
How can I get the eSIM equivalent of the Happy 90-day unlimited data plan they advertise with a physical SIM? I will be in Thailand for 60 days and their 90-day plan seems most economical when going over 30 days. Marc Schnapp asked on June 26, 2022
Answer
Many alternate DTAC packages are available with a call to the call center, but in the case of a longer term eSIM, it's best to visit a DTAC shop to register the eSIM in your name, which is required for longer term products and making changes to promotions. Question
Is this product recommended when it comes to ordinary phone calls? I read a lot about how great it is for data, but my primary need is the possibility of making cheap local phone calls when in Thailand. John asked on June 20, 2022

With the DTAC plans, you get a local Thai number for calls and SMS. Receiving local calls and texts is free in Thailand. Bryan answered on June 21, 2022 store managerstore manager

Question
When shall I buy the e sim and activate it with the scan of the QR code if I want the 15 days start one specific day, let's say for example June 7th? Luca asked on May 30, 2022
Answer
The data plan will start on first use of the data plan. You can install the eSIM, but not use the data. So, when you want the plan started, start using the data. Bryan answered on May 31, 2022 store managerstore manager
