Description
About SIM2Fly
The AIS SIM2Fly is a roaming SIM from Thailand’s largest mobile carrier. Originally designed for Thai people who are traveling abroad, its price makes it attractive for just about anyone traveling to one of the supported countries. With data prices as low as 10 times cheaper than other roaming options, it’s a great choice, especially in its new eSIM supported format. No need to wait for a SIM to arrive, just scan the SIM QR code and go.
You can install the eSIM a few days before your trip. The main package gives you data at the highest speeds available, and then unlimited speeds of 128kbps (2G) for any remaining days. If you need more days or data, no problem. Simply load the card with additional credit and choose one of the add on packages.
Once you have an SIM2Fly eSIM, you can reuse it for multiple trips in multiple countries. If you bought the Asian SIM and finished the 8 day package, you can add credit and add a Global package at a later date. Just keep your SIM active with a small amount of credit, and you can use it for many future trips.

How to to use eSIM on iPhone video from Apple
Using Dual SIM with an eSIM
iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR or newer feature Dual SIM with a nano-SIM and an eSIM.1 An eSIM is a digital SIM that allows you to activate a cellular plan from your carrier without having to use a physical, plastic nano-SIM card. More esim supported devices and device set up.
Here are a few of the many ways you can use Dual SIM:
- Use one number for business and another number for personal calls.
- Using eSIM2Fly, Add a local data plan when you travel outside of the country or region.
- Have separate voice and data plans.
Both of your phone numbers can make and receive voice calls and send and receive SMS. Your iPhone can use one cellular data network at a time.
What you need
- An iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, or iPhone XR with iOS 12.1 or later
- A QR code from the carrier or a carrier app from a wireless carrier like AIS Thailand that supports eSIM
- An unlocked iPhone. If a CDMA carrier provides your first SIM, your second SIM won’t support CDMA. Contact your carrier for more information. If you have an enterprise or corporate cellular service plan, check with your company administrator to see if they support this feature.
Set up your cellular data roaming plan with eSIM2Fly
Your home plan uses a nano-SIM and the eSIM2Fly (or others) uses an eSIM. If you don’t have a nano-SIM and your carrier supports it, an eSIM can serve as your only cellular plan. The eSIM provided by your carrier is stored digitally in your iPhone.
To activate your eSIM2Fly cellular plan, you can scan the QR code, or you can enter the information manually:
Scan a QR code
- Go to Settings > Cellular.
- Tap Add Cellular Plan.
- Use your iPhone to scan the purchased eSIM QR code.
If you’re asked to enter a confirmation code to activate the eSIM, enter the number that provided.
Notes:
- eSIM on iPhone is not offered in mainland China. In Hong Kong and Macau, only iPhone XS features eSIM. Learn about using Dual SIM with two nano-SIM cards in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
- This uses Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) technology, which means that both SIMs can make and receive calls. If one number is on a call, incoming calls on the other number will go to voicemail.

Fast networks Vietnam and Indonesia . However, customer support is kind of difficult to contact. You don’t get responses immediately. I had trouble using the product the first time and it took them 3 days to respond back. So for that I’m only giving it a 4.

It was very easy to setup and worked instantly. Easily the best way to get mobile data overseas. The only complaint would be to make it easier to add extra data and days through the website. Will use it again next time I visit SE Asia
Timothy (verified owner) –
Overall a good package for supporting multiple Asian countries but it’s important to switch the language to English as soon as you purchase the package. The capacity & ease of use is generally good. One challenge I faced was getting my iMessage to work correctly, you might have to use your email since it’s a bit challenging to get an accurate mobile number from the package. Putting everything aside, this package is worth it for the price point.

Very straightforward and easy to get started. Only thing was that I needed to switch automatic carrier selection off, and make sure I chose SoftBank for 4G to work in Japan.

Anonymous (verified owner) –
Awesome service! Saved me in a pinch when I was in COVID quarantine and could not get to a local telcom shop in Indonesia. I bought the eSIM, scanned the code, and then the one glitch: it was not mentioned that I would actually be getting service through AIS Thailand and the network would not automatically be selected correctly. I had to call AIS to find out that I had to switch the network to manual and select an Indonesian provider. Once I did this, everything worked and I had my data.
Note: to add any calling minutes (at roaming costs), you can top up in the AIS app to add some credit with a credit card and then make calls to local Indonesian numbers using the international 628xxx instead of 08xxx.
Aside from this minor yet important glitch it was great and I had my data and could make calls also with Skype or other VOIP services.
Suggestions:
– make the product info more clear about the overseas provider (Thailand not Indonesia)
– Add instruction to manually select carrier after scanning the QR to set up the SIM
– try to use a local network/carrier so customers can call locally if they add credit (especially for “short code” type numbers like 112, 150888, etc). If I had not lived in Thailand previously I would have been totally lost.
Great job bringing these services to the masses and the prices are acceptable for one time / urgent needs or as a fallback when transiting countries. Thank you 🙂

worked very well, took a bit of time setting up (10 mins maybe) as it was my first time trying out an esim. Only downside I found was that the data seemed to be deprioritized on roaming partners.

I hope we can use 10gb + 2gb in japan and 7gb + 3gb in asia.
Yutaka Niibe (verified owner) –
The service itself works well. I recommend to use this eSIM for Asian users.
Two things which need improvements:
(1) Webpages are a bit confusing because they’re things irrelevant to international users (only applicable to domestic Thailand users).
(2) MyAIS app is so noisy to invite to useless chat help.
